Ballroom Dancing Lessons on DVD

Learn 6 or More Ballroom Dance Styles at Home!

Top Ballroom Dance Videos Teach you to Dance the Cha Cha, Tango, Waltz and more from Home

Ballroom dance is enjoying a resurgence in popularity, primarily thanks to a couple of reality TV shows focussing on dance. This popularity has also spilled over into the world of ballroom dancing videos. Home instruction for dances like The Cha Cha, Tango and Waltz are popping up all over the Internet and helping couples across the country learn the steps to these fantastic dances.

The question how ever is which of these ballroom dance videos will work best for you?

I’ve spent some time researching the different products available and have found two great ballroom dance videos that will teach you some of the most popular dances of the American ballroom.

#1 Learn and Master Ballroom Dance

learn and master ballroom danceBy far the best ballroom dancing videos we found were those in the Learn & Master Ballroom Dance series. This multi disc course was created by Legacy Learning Systems a leader in the DVD home instruction market, and is taught by world class dance competitors and instructors Jaimee Simon and Mark Short (click here to read their bios).

These dance videos go through the six main styles of the American ballroom: the Tango, Waltz, Swing, Cha Cha, Rhumba and FoxTrot.

Through a series of video lessons you’ll see the dance demonstrated as a couple then learn the lead and follow parts on their own before piecing it together as the completed product.

To help you practice at home there are six dance along Cds included which contain songs at three different tempos you can use to practice your steps to perfection.

Of the courses we looked at there just wasn’t anything even close to the product quality of Learn and Master Ballroom Dance.

Take a peek at this video to get a brief overview of the entire course.

#2 Let’s Dance Louis

lets dance louisI’ll admit the biggest reason these ballroom dance videos have gained popularity is because of the instructor. Louis Van Amstel is a regular on the TV hit “Dancing with the Stars”. He’s proven in front of millions of TV viewers that he knows how to dance the popular styles that you want to learn.

The Let’s Dance Louis videos cover eight different styles: The Cha Cha, FoxTrot, Jive, Rhumba, Salsa, Samba, Tango and Waltz.

While these ballroom dancing videos cover more styles then Learn and Master Dance the quality of the instruction in those videos isn’t as in depth. If you’re a complete beginner you’ll be much better served by the videos on the Learn and Master Ballroom DVDs.

Included with Let’s Dance Louis are several MP3 songs for you to practice your moves with. While these dance videos are about $50 less then the Learn and Master Dance course, I feel that you’ll get a lot more value and instruction for your money if you opt for the $150 DVD videos from Legacy Learning Systems.
