Ever Think about playing Ballroom Music?

I know this site is about learning to ballroom dance, but I wanted to share this with you any ways.

The creator of my favourite ballroom dance course, Learn and Master Ballroom Dance, offers a lot more then just this course. One in particular I thought some of my readers here might be interested in is their piano lessons dvd program.

Like the ballroom dance course it comes with DVDs, Cds and a workbook to instruct you on how to learn the basics then progresses to more intermediate topics as the course continues.

If you’ve ever had an interest in learning to play piano I don’t believe there’s a better way to learn it or for more value then with the Learn & Master piano course.

I’ve had personal experience with their guitar course learn and master guitar (another of the DVD courses they sell) and believe that compared to most private teachers the instruction you get from these DVDs is better then private lessons.

Of course, I am a bit biased seeing that I have used their courses and obviously love them enough to post about them here.

Beyond Ballroom Dancing from Legacy Learning

Taking a step away from the Tango, Waltz and FoxTrot with this post to just let you know about a few other courses that Legacy Learning Systems, the creators of Learn & Master Ballroom Dance, have to offer.

The company focuses entirely on products that are artistic and/or musical. Hence the Ballroom Dance.

The two courses I wanted to share with you today are their guitar courses. This is what got this company started in the online and self learning realm and they’re still heavy hitters from their catalog today.

The first course they came out with was Learn and master guitar, a 25 disc self study course much like the ballroom dancing course that includes everything you need to know to become a great acoustic or electric guitar player. Like ballroom dance they also paid close attention the quality of the instructor they chose and found a man by the name of Steve Krenz to teach the course.

Steve has turned out to be a great find on the part of Legacy learning because he’s just completed the second course for them entitled: Learn and Master Blues Guitar Spotlight.

The spotlight series of courses is a new series of smaller courses then the full blown 20 disc + courses in the learn & master lineup.

The blues guitar dvd can be viewed as a continuation of the full guitar course, or it could be purchased on it’s own pending your experience with the instrument.

Examples of Current Cha Cha

Continuing with our example dances today I’ve got some more modern takes on the Cha Cha. These come in a video created from several dances done on the hit TV series “So You Think You Can Dance”.

These styles might not appeal to older couples interested in learning the Cha Cha or other Ballroom dance styles, but none the less it does show how an elegant form of art like ballroom dance can be modernized for a younger crowd ensuring it won’t lose it’s luster.

Beautiful FoxTrot Example

Continuing with some of my previous posts providing examples of the beautiful dances you can learn with ballroom lessons I have an example of the FoxTrot being performed by world class ballroom dancers.

Watching international competitors dance some of these elegant steps makes it look so easy and smooth, of course what we don’t see in this performance is the hours and hours that has gone into their practice with each other.

I doubt any of us are considering a world level competition any time soon for our FoxTrot or any dance, but none the less that doesn’t mean we don’t want to improve. You can learn the Foxtrot and other styles of dance for the first time using the Learn and master ballroom dance program. Learning to dance any ballroom style takes more then just a glance at the right steps and then you go to the floor and reproduce what you see.

Most ballroom dance lesson teach you the steps for the leader, the follower then combine the two for you. This beginner cha cha lesson I found will help you get started learning the dance.
